The Interim Priest-in-Charge
Australian born Rex Davis is an Anglican priest who was Studies Secretary for the Australian Council of Churches, where he was involved in setting up the Australian and New Zealand Society for Theological Studies from 1966 -1968. He was an Executive Secretary with the World Council of Churches, 1968-1977, being editor of RISK magazine and Pacific Secretary.
Rex was appointed Subdean of Lincoln Cathedral in 1977. From 1977-1994 he was Warden of Edward King House where a number of seminars and meetings were held, including the Lincoln Consultation, 1984, which brought together Pacific leaders and European NGOs. In 2004 Rex was appointed a medallist of the Order of Australia. He is secretary to the Council of the Pacific Islands Society of the United Kingdom and Ireland and to the Board of FSPI. He retired from Lincoln in 2003 and now lives in London.
Canon Davis’ study of the charismatic movement and ecumenical movement “Locusts and Wild Honey” was published in 1978. He has contributed other publications and writes reviews.
