EDUCATING OUR FAITH AT THE CHAPEL
We take our faith seriously at the Chapel but also believe in having fun. We believe in asking questions and exploring our faith with intellectual integrity, even if it leaves us confused from time to time! Part of our annual programme is to have a series of Sunday Studies. These take place on various Sundays through the year. They begin at 12.45pm and finish at 1.45pm. The next Studies are:
Sunday 28th February 12.45
Shakespeare, Love and Religion (3): Bound upon a Wheel of Fire by Stewart Trotter
How the joy at James' accession turned to nihilistic despair in Shakespeare's private life - but how, finding love in unexpected places, Shakespeare worked back to a form of Catholicism uniquely his own.
Sunday 14th March 12.45 POSTPONED UNTIL LATER DATE
An Introduction to St Luke's Gospel by Canon Mark Oakley
We will explore the history behind the Gospel of St Luke, examining the author and what seems to have been at the centre of his faith in Christ. Why has this Gospel been called the "most beautiful book ever written"? What would Christian faith look like if we didn't have St Luke's Gospel?
Sunday 25th April 12.45
Who are we? The spiritual geneaology of Grosvenor Chapel by Dr Ann Barker
Ann will explain our spiritual origins and development over 280 years. She will highlight the significant events which have formed us into who we are today. She will ask how we can nurture our unique spiritual heritage and evolve as a welcoming, always questioning yet ever liturgically centred congregation.
Sunday 16th May 12.45
The Operatic Prayer by Ross Alley
Opera would simply not be opera without those moments of heart-stopping beauty when the heroine, or hero (and sometimes the ensemble) begs for mercy, freedom or divine intercession. The operatic prayer was almost de rigeur in 19th century Italian opera but many fine examples also grace the French and Russian repertoire, and we shall explore some of the sublimest.

BUILDING ON HISTORY
"Building on History" is a ground breaking project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, running until 2012 and a partnership between the Diocese of London, Lambeth Palace Library, King’s College London and the Open University. The aim is to contribute to the self-understanding of the Diocese of London by transferring the insights of historical research into the people and buildings of the diocese and encouraging new historical enquiry amongst people within the diocese.
