Chapel Hire

Grosvenor Chapel is now a major venue for concerts and charity events in the heart of central London. The Chapel is available for hire to groups looking for a central London venue, with access to all transportation and parking. With a capacity of up to 400 people, but an environment that happily accomodates 50.

Our acoustics and facilities make us an attractive venue to many musical groups' needs. The hire fee includes access to a baby grand piano and one of London's best organs.

Chapel Hire rates

Small scale recitals - from £175

Medium-size concerts e.g. small choirs - from £250

Large-scale concerts e.g. large choirs, orchestras - from £325

The Chapel caretaker must be present during rental of the Chapel and this costs £65 for 4 hours, and £13 per hour thereafter, in addition to the rentals charge.

Please note performers are not covered by the Chapel's own insurance policy.

Music

The acoustic in the Chapel is considered particularly good by all the performers.

We have a Weinbach baby grand piano which, although only 5'8", gives a wonderful sound because of the excellent acoustic. We do advise people wishing to use the piano that it might require tuning. We are happy to provide the number of a reputable piano tuner.

The Chapel's organ is highly acclaimed as one of the best - William Drake built it in 1991 in the 18thC English style in the original case of 1732.

Our performance area can accommodate a choir of 40-45 or a small orchestra.

We have a resident choir consisting of 5 full-time professional singers. Our Director of Music, Richard Hobson is also our regular organist.

For audio and video recordings of concerts to take place special authorisation from the chapel office must be sought at the time of booking.

Capacity

The downstairs capacity is 250, and upstairs we can accommodate a further 150 (with restricted views).

We have a fully equipped kitchen at the back of the Chapel which can be used for making hot drinks or warming food. You may also wish to hire our newly built rooms and patio to offer a reception after your event.

There are also three lavatories, including a brand new disabled facility.

Alcoholic drinks can be served but in order to serve/sell alcohol a Temporary Events Licence must be applied for. For details on this simple process please speak to the Administrator (see below).

The Chapel is centrally located and easy to get to.

The Administrator at the Chapel deals with all concert and rehearsal bookings, please contact us for further information.
